Summer Bird Walk

  • Rotunda at Lake Marma Reserve Breen Street Murtoa, VIC, 3390 Australia (map)

Join Yarrilinks and local bird expert Ross Barlow for a casual bird walk and talk around Lake Marma! Meet at the rotunda near the swimming pool at 10 am and we will walk around the lake to check out the bird life, with Ross as our guide to help identify species and learn about the local ecosystem.

Please bring:

  • Sturdy, closed toe shoes

  • Hat, water bottle and sunscreen

  • Binoculars and a bird book if you have them!

To prepare for the event, we suggest you spend a bit of time outside just quietly listening to the birds around you. No need for binoculars or books - just a comfortable place to sit, watch and listen. Get comfy and let nature settle around you - for more information check out this episode from ABC Radio on Learning the Language of Birds.

This event will be followed by our February 2025 Yarrilinks Committee meeting. If you’d like an issue raised at the meeting, contact us or speak to a committee member at the event.
