Wimmera representation on the LVI Member’s Council
Alicia has recently joined the Landcare Victoria Member’s Council as the professional delegate for the Wimmera region. This role will facilitate two-way communication between Landcare Victoria Inc. and the Landcare community of the Wimmera region.
Landcare Victoria Inc. (LVI) is the peak body for Landcare in Victoria. LVI provides insurance cover and grant auspice support for member groups, as well as advocacy and training opportunities for the Landcare community. The organisation is governed by a volunteer Board which provides oversight and strategic direction. Leanne Jackman of Northern Grampians Landcare Group represents the Wimmera region on the LVI Board.
The role of the Member’s Council is to represent community Landcare in Victoria, advising on policy and Landcare issues and facilitating communication between LVI and the Landcare community. Each catchment region can be represented by one professional Landcarer (ie a Landcare Facilitator or Project Officer) and up to two volunteer Landcarers.
Currently there are no volunteer Landcarers from the Wimmera on the LVI Member’s Council. If you are interested in learning more, please contact LVI: info@lvi.org.au
The workings of the Member’s Council are laid out in the Member’s Council Charter, which is currently under review with some exciting changes proposed. Stay tuned for further updates!
